Christian twenty-year-old Marshall Polston attended Rollins College in Florida. He had an angry Muslim teacher that taught very anti-Christian teachings to his students. He told his students that Jesus was never crucified and that his disciples did not believe he was God. Historically inaccurate thing. However, Polston faced major consequences when he fought back.
After Polston confronted Professor Areej Zufari, he was suspended. After the incident he talked to College Fix. He talked about how he had traveled abroad and studied different cultures and knew his professor was wrong.
“Honestly, it reminded me of some of the more radical groups I researched when abroad. Whether religious or not, I believe even those with limited knowledge of Christianity can agree that according to the text, Jesus was crucified and his followers did believe he was divine… that he was God. Regardless, to assert the contrary as academic fact is not supported by the evidence,” said Polston.
After the encounter, the student received a 52% on a major essay. He described how he normally gets straight A’s and the teacher gave no explanation of the grade. The professor then doubled down on his ignorant teaching.
The class discussed Sharia law and a Muslim student mentioned that gays and adulterers should be decapitated. “The statement by the conservative Muslim student met such fear by some that one of the students reported it to the FBI. Later, I was reported by the professor to the dean of campus safety. The situation was surreal. We’ve already had one too many attacks in Orlando and as an avid traveler I realized this was the perfect example of ‘see something, say something,’” said the student. What is happening to colleges?
